Dr Nattapol Tantikarn
Thai pianist Nattapol Tantikarn has received awards in several competitions including YAMAHA Music Festival and the 5th Piyabhand Piano Competition (Thailand), Music Teachers National Association Young Artists Competition (Oregon and Northwest Division, USA), the 63rd Wideman International Piano Competition (Louisiana, USA) and was invited to participate in the 7th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (Japan) and the 2015 Leeds International Piano Competition (UK).
Nattapol Tantikarn holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance and was the awardee of the University of Oregon Outstanding Graduate Keyboard Award and Outstanding Graduate Performer in Piano Pedagogy Award. A frequent performer within the community, Nattapol won the School of Music and Dance Concerto Competition and performed Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1 at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Oregon.
Nattapol Tantikarn has performed in masterclasses conducted by leading artists and distinguished pedagogues from around the globe including André Watts, Leon Fleisher, Yefim Bronfman, Dmitri Alexeev, Angela Hewitt, Jacques Rouvier, Boris Berman and Dominique Merlet. At the University of Oregon, Nattapol was under the quidance and tutelage of Prof. Dean Kramer, one of the few pianists to have received lessons from the legendary pianist Vladimir Horowitz (Mannes School of Music, New York City).
As an active performer and educator, prior to his music career in Singapore, Nattapol Tantikarn taught at the School of Music and Dance University of Oregon and has served as the school's Associate Director of the Piano Pedagogy Program. Nattapol was invited to adjudicate competitions in USA, Thailand, and Singapore, to perform and give masterclasses as visiting artist and lecturer at Guangxi Arts University (Nanning, China) and Mahidol University and Payap University (Thailand).
